This year, the World Metrology Day of 20 May 2016 will be organized jointly by SMD-ENS, the metrology service of the Federal Public Service Economy (FPS) and the Belgian Measurement Confederation (BEMEKO) in the premises of FPS in Brussels, City Atrium C, rue du Progrès 50, 1210 Brussels (phone 02/2775111). The purpose is to bring together scientists active in metrology and those active in measurement in a larger sense. The workshop will include invited oral contributions dealing with metrology and poster contributions dealing with various aspects of measurement techniques or their applications. The participation of PhD students and other young researchers is much encouraged, since the workshop may represent an opportunity for first poster presentation.
Call for posters and submission of abstracts
You are kindly invited to submit abstracts for a poster presentation in topics related to experimental techniques, data acquisition, sensors, or applications of measurements. These applications of measurements include (but are not limited to) the renewable energy sector, the characterization of materials, measurements for power quality & security, electronics & robotics, light & lighting. The preferred language for abstracts and posters is English.

World Metrology Day - Measurements in a Dynamic World -

Dit jaar is het thema van de wereld metrologie dag, gekozen door het BIPM en OIML, "Measurements in a Dynamic World”. Het doel van deze dag is om industrie en wetenschap samen te brengen rond metrologie.
In dit kader organiseert de dienst Nationale Standaarden (SMD-ENS) van de FOD Economie in samenwerking met Bemeko (Belgian Measurement Confederation) op 20 mei 2016 een workshop met presentaties, postersessies en een bezoek aan het laboratorium van SMD-ENS.
Het onderwerp van de presentaties belicht metrologie vanuit verschillende aspecten, gaande van de internationale metrologische context tot toekomstige metrologische noden, langs onder andere huidige research en ontwikkelingen in metrologie, metrologie voor veiligheidsaspecten, enz…

De postersessies richten zich op experimentele technieken, dataverwerving, sensoren, toepassingen zoals in hernieuwbare energie, karakterisering van materialen, licht en verlichting, robotica, … De “Call for posters and submission of abstracts” vind je hierboven.
De presentaties gaan door in de voormiddag en een deel van de namiddag, de postersessies tijdens de pauzes en de walking lunch. Tijdens de pauzes en de lunch kunt u contacten leggen.
Het labobezoek vindt plaats tijdens het 2de deel van de namiddag. Het labobezoek is, wegens het beperkt aantal plaatsen, te reserveren bij inschrijving voor de workshop.

Cette année le thème de la Journée mondiale de la métrologie, choisi par le BIPM et l'OIML, est « Measurements in a Dynamic World ». Le but de cette journée est de rassembler le monde de l’industrie et la communauté scientifique autour de la métrologie.
Dans ce cadre le 20 mai 2016, le service Etalons Nationaux (SMD-ENS) du SPF Economie organise, en collaboration avec Bemeko (Belgian Measurement Confederation), un séminaire avec présentations, sessions de posters et visite du laboratoire SMD-ENS.
Les sujets des présentations déclinent la métrologie sous des aspects variés allant du contexte international en métrologie jusqu’au besoins futurs en passant par la recherche/développement actuel, métrologie dans le cadre de la sécurité, etc.

Les sessions de posters seront axées sur les techniques expérimentales, l’acquisition des données, les capteurs, les applications notamment dans le domaine de l’énergie renouvelable, la caractérisation des matériaux, la lumière et l’éclairage, la robotique… Pour le « Call for posters and submission of abstracts », veuillez voir ci-dessus.
Les présentations se dérouleront durant la matinée et une partie de l’après-midi, les sessions de posters pendant les pauses et le walking lunch.
Les pauses et le lunch vous permettront d’établir des contacts.
La visite du laboratoire aura lieu dans la seconde partie de l’après-midi. En raison du nombre de places limité, la visite du laboratoire se déroule sur réservation préalable.
